A piano and microphone will be provided. Contestants are required to bring their own instruments and outfits for auditions.Please let us know if you need a cordless microphone. Also, bring a color picture of yourself.

Dear High School Principals, District Arts Coordinators and Curriculum Directors:


The Iota Iota Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Salt Lake Community College will host our Annual Talent Hunt Competition March 30, 2019 at 2 p.m. The finals competition will be held in the Oak Room in the Student Union at Salt Lake Community College, Taylorsville Redwood Campus4600 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, UT 84123. Admission is free and open to the public.


Utah high school students are invited to an Open Audition on Saturday, March 2, 2019 to perform in one of five areas: music, vocal or instrumental (e.g., classical, semi-classical, gospel and jazz); interpretive movement to music (e.g., hip hop, ballet, modern dance and tap); speech (e.g., spoken word, poetry, orations and monologues); and art (e.g., visual, sculptures and photography). Finalist will be selected from the five performance categories to perform at the Finals competition on March 30th. The winner of our local competition will receive $1,000 and advance to the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity’s 12th District Conference Talent Hunt Competition on May 18, 2019 in San Jose, CA. The winner of the 12th District competition will receive $1,000 and advance to the International Talent Hunt Demonstration in July 2019 in Atlantic City, NJ. The local state competition is open only to Utah students in grades 9 through 12. All contestants must compete as soloists; no group performances are allowed.


Online registration is open until on February 27th. The website address for online registration is www.Que-TriIota.org. Professionals will adjudicate the audition and finals competition. Auditions will take place on March 2nd, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at SLCC’s Student Center on the Taylorsville Redwood Campus, 4600 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, UT 84123.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was founded in 1911 and incorporated in 1914 at Howard University, Washington D.C. The Fraternity has been active nationally and internationally for over 105 years. One of the fraternity’s key international mandated programs is the Talent Hunt. The Talent Hunt Program was established in 1945 and is implemented worldwide annually by the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Its purpose is to expose and encourage young gifted, visual and performing artists while assisting them in furthering their education.
